School
Our partner language school is located in the picturesque mountain village of Liddes in the Pays du St. Bernard region of the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by spectacular Alpine scenery, the camp is approximately 25 minutes from Martigny and Verbier, while the Vichères-Liddes ski resort is less than five minutes from the chalet. Students also have access to the nearby ski areas of Champex-Lac and La Fouly, with a ski pass for all three resorts included in the programme. Students combine 12 hours of French tuition each week in small groups of approximately six participants with 15 hours of skiing or snowboarding lessons led by experienced instructors. The programme is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced skiers and snowboarders. After an active day on the slopes, students return to the comfortable chalet to enjoy homemade meals and a varied evening programme with other international students. Each week also includes one half-day excursion and one full-day excursion or activity, giving students the opportunity to explore the region and experience more of life in the Swiss Alps
Course
Your course includes 16 General French or German classes per week. Your classes will be held in small groups of around 6 students, providing more teacher-student contact that allows the teacher to focus upon the specific learning needs of each student.
Our qualified teachers use a variety of techniques including role-plays, discussions, group activities to ensure you make rapid progress. You will have a Level Test on your first day so your level can be assessed and so that you can be placed in the correct class.
Accommodation
Students are accommodated in dormitories of between 2-4 beds. There are also single ensuite rooms available. The accommodation has a shared seating space where students can relax after a long busy day, practice their French with their newfound friends and play some pool and foosball. The terrace offers a beautiful panoramic view, particularly at sunrise and sunset.

Activities
The school’s central location means that students can be on the slopes within minutes of their lessons ending.
SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING
The camp’s location in the Pays du St. Bernard region gives students access to three charming Alpine ski areas: Vichères-Liddes, Champex-Lac and La Fouly. Vichères-Liddes is less than five minutes from the chalet, while the other resorts are approximately 30 minutes away. A ski pass covering all three resorts is included in the programme, along with 15 hours of skiing or snowboarding lessons each week. Students are placed into groups according to their ability, making the programme suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced skiers and snowboarders.
EXCURSIONS
Alongside language lessons and time on the slopes, students take part in one half-day excursion and one full-day excursion each week. Activities vary depending on the programme dates, weather and group, but may include ice skating at Champex-Lac, exploring the Roman town of Aosta, visiting the Gianadda Foundation in Martigny, snowshoeing through the Alpine countryside, bowling, trampoline parks or an escape room.
Full-day excursions may include the thermal baths of Lavey or Saillon, the Bex Salt Mines, the underground lake near Sion, Montreux and Chillon Castle, Vevey and the Chaplin’s World museum, or a visit to Lausanne’s Olympic Museum or Aquatis Aquarium. Excursions change from week to week, ensuring students enjoy a varied and exciting experience of the region.

When students are not skiing, attending language classes or exploring the region, they can enjoy a varied evening programme with their new international friends. Activities may include:

Students are requested to arrive on Sunday and depart on a Saturday.

You will be met on arrival by a school representative and brought straight to your accommodation if taking the schools airport transfer (which we recommend). Please be sure to email Tribe at least 2 weeks prior to departure to confirm your flight details. You will see either your name or the school’s name on a board as you come through Arrivals. We will also give you an Emergency telephone number for the school and you will also have the Tribe 24/7 contact number which you should call in the event that your flight is delayed.
Airport transfers can be arranged for students at Geneva airport free of charge provided flights fall within the following times:
Arrival (Sunday): between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm
Departure (Sunday): between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm
Your French/German lessons will take place at our Partners Language School which is located on site from where you are accommodated.
You will have a level test on the first morning before you start your course and will be placed in a class with other students of the same level. Your level will be monitored during the course and if you feel your class is too easy or too difficult then you should speak with your teacher or let us know and the Director of Studies will see if it’s possible to move you to a different class. Everyone at the school is very approachable and once you let someone know they will make sure that the move is as quick and smooth as possible for you.
It includes your accommodation with breakfast, lunch and evening meal. You will enjoy delicious Swiss home cooking.
Your accommodation details are confirmed as soon as we receive them from our partner school. This is usually 1-2 weeks prior to departure but can sometimes be much sooner . At the same time you will also receive our pre-departure information with all your all school details and emergency contact numbers for your stay.
You can book online or over the phone – whichever is easiest. Once the form is complete all you need to do to secure your booking is to pay a deposit of €200. It usually takes 1-2 days before your booking is confirmed and the final balance is due 4 weeks prior to departure. You can pay either by card, by bank transfer or by cheque.
As we are not a travel agent we don’t book flights however we can advise on which flights would be suitable so please email or give us a call and we would be happy to talk you through it. NB Please do not book your flights until you have received confirmation of your enrolment.

The maximum age students can attend is 17. Depending on the season there are lots of students from different countries between the ages of 8 and 17. You will be grouped with students of similar age and French level as yours in class.
All students are expected to be active in their courses. This includes a certain amount of homework – i.e. preparing vocab for the next day or a written piece based on what you have learned in class that day. Homework will be corrected and given back as this helps you track your progress. However, the amount of homework given will not affect your time for leisure and or interfere with your skiing / snowboarding.
