School

Our partner school was founded in 1985 and is one of the most established schools on the French Riviera. Your language course takes place at a dedicated summer campus just outside Antibes and has a host of facilities making it the ideal setting for your language programme. The 5-acre campus is set in private gardens and includes classrooms, student residence, cafeteria, several sports fields (football, volleyball, basketball), WiFi area, and swimming pool. A free shuttle bus connects the campus with the centre of Antibes.

Antibes town is in the heart of the Cote D’Azur and is known for its elegant harbour and marina. With over 20km of sandy beaches and 300 days of sunshine per year, it is the perfect location to improve your French and have a wonderful summer holiday.

Course

Students have 20 General French morning lessons which cover French grammar, vocabulary, oral expression, comprehension and reading. The classes are dynamic and fun. Teachers use a variety of techniques including role-plays, discussions, newspapers articles, multi-media and group activities. When the students return after lunch, the daily leisure programme begins where their classroom learning is put into action.

Intensive Option

If you would like to fast track your fluency why not upgrade to the intensive course which includes an extra 6 classes over 2 afternoons? The morning classes have max 15 students and the afternoons have max 8 to make sure you get individual attention and maximum language support.

Accommodation

Students have a choice of either French Host accommodation or on-campus accommodation in the student residence.

French Host

To fully immerse you in the language, our partner school arranges accommodation with carefully selected French hosts who are located either within walking distance or a short bus or tram from the school (max 25 minutes). The hosts are visited regularly by the school’s Accommodation Officer and are known to the school (the majority have been hosting for a number of years). Students are accommodated in twin rooms (single room on request) and you will have breakfast and evening meals with your host and a buffet lunch is enjoyed in the school cafeteria. Packed lunches are provided for weekend excursions. The host may sometimes have another student of a different nationality staying with them, who also attends the school. Bed linen is provided (but not towels) and changed weekly.

Student Residence

Bedrooms are spacious and well equipped and sleep between 2 and 4 students. There is plenty of storage space and showers and toilets are located on each floor. Bed linen is provided (but not towels) and changed weekly. Light cleaning is done every day with a full clean at the weekend.
Meals are full board and are enjoyed in the school cafeteria. There is a wide variety of options on the menus and they are usually buffet style and include a choice of meat, fish, pasta, salad and smoothies along with plenty of fruit and healthy snacks. Special dietary requirements can be catered for if made known at the time of booking.

Activities

Morning lessons are followed by a packed programme of sports and activities including tennis tournaments, volleyball, soccer, water sports, craft workshops, sailing, discos, barbecues, themed evenings and events all designed to make sure you have fun, make friends and speak French all day. There is a half-day excursion every week to Monaco, Cannes or Marineland. The full-day excursion to Nice, Monaco or Aquasplash takes place on the weekend. Extra fun activities can be arranged directly when you are at the school (i.e bowling, segway tour). These extras have a separate charge. Overall, the activity programme really helps you discover all that the French Riviera has to offer.

Note a private shuttle service is available for students who wish to go to the beach or the city centre.

FAQs

When is the arrival / departure day?

Students are requested to arrive on Sunday and depart on Saturday. Students are also requested to arrive between 10 am and 8 pm, where possible. An extra night stay can be arranged and a supplement fee applies. For more information contact our office at 00 353 121 433 14 or through our Contact Us page.

Who will meet me at the airport?

You will be met on arrival by your French Host or by a school representative and brought straight to your accommodation. Please be sure to email at least 2 weeks prior to departure to confirm your flight details. You will see your name on a board as you come through arrivals. We will also give you an emergency telephone number for the school which you should call in the event that your flight is delayed.

Is there a gluten free / dairy free / vegetarian option?

A special diet option can be organised for a supplemental fee if requested at the time of booking.

I would prefer a single room. Is this possible?

Yes, single rooms are available upon request for an additional charge. For more information contact our office at 00 353 121 433 14 or through our Contact Us page.

How will I get to school?

If you are staying with a French host, on the first day your host family will bring you to school and after that, you will either walk or go on the bus (max journey time 30 minutes). Antibes has a very extensive transport network and all the host families live beside a bus stop. The school can help you source transport passes if needed. If you are staying on Campus, you are just a few minutes’ walk from your classroom!

How will I know if I am in the right class level?

You will have a level test on the first morning or online prior to departure before you start your course. This will be used to place you in a class with other students of the same level. Your level will be monitored during the course and if you feel your class is too easy or too difficult then you should speak with your teacher or let us know and the Director of Studies will see if it’s possible to move you to a different class. Everyone at the school is very approachable and once you let someone know they will make sure that the move is as quick and smooth as possible for you.

What does “Full Board” include?

Accommodation (sharing), breakfast and dinner with your host family and lunch is in the school cafeteria. A packed lunch is provided for excursions. If you are staying on campus you will have all meals in the school cafeteria and will have a packed lunch for the weekend excursions.

How can I book? When are fees due?

You can book online or over the phone – whichever is easiest. Once the form is complete all you need to do to secure your booking is to pay a deposit of €200. It usually takes 1-2 days before your booking is confirmed and the final balance is due 4 weeks prior to departure. You can pay either by card, bank transfer or cheque.

Can you book my flights for me?

As we are not a travel agency, we don’t book flights. However, we can advise on which flights would be suitable so please email or give us a call and we would be happy to talk you through it.
Please note, do not book your flights until you have received confirmation of your enrolment by Tribe Study Abroad.

What is the age range of students at the school?

The minimum age students can attend is 13 years old and max is 17 years. The average age on this course is 15-16 years old.

If I have to cancel my booking will I receive a refund?
